SPE Regional Award for Achievement in “Petroleum Engineering Faculty”

Dr. Badrul Hisham (UM) was awarded for his contributions to the petroleum engineering profession by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) presented Asia Pacific Regional Awards in recognition of individuals and companies that make significant technical and professional contributions to the petroleum engineering profession and to the oil and gas industry.

Dr. Badrul Hisham Mohamed Jan from University of Malaya (UM) received the award for “Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty 2016”. This award recognises superiority in classroom teaching, excellence in research, significant contributions to the petroleum engineering profession and/or special effectiveness in advising and guiding students.

The SPE awards was presented during the Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) on 25th Oct 2016 in Perth, Australia with the theme "Catching the Next Wave - Delivering Affordable Energy".

Besides the presentation of regional awards, other highlights of the event included keynote addresses from leading regional operators, plenary session with industry leaders, lecture presentation on "Verifying performance and capability of new technology for surface and subsurface facilities", panel sessions on collaboration, asset integrity management, transition from start-up to production, regulation and public perception, and more.
