Academic exchange agreement between Tokyo University of Science and the University of California Santa Cruz

The Tokyo University of Science entered into Agreement of Cooperation with the University of California, Santa Cruz, USA, on September 1, 2006.

The Tokyo University of Science entered into Agreement of Cooperation (AOC) with the University of California Santa Cruz, USA, on September 1, 2006. Founded in 1965, UC Santa Cruz is one of 10 campuses in the University of California system. The UC Santa Cruz is the outstanding research university that is comprised of Academic Divisions in the disciplines of Engineering, Physical & Biological Sciences, Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. It has a student body of some 15,000 and a faculty of some 540. UC Santa Cruz was ranked in an ISI report as the second most influential research institution in the world in the physical sciences.

Through this latest agreement, both universities will engage in academic exchange by:
1. Pursuing interchange by faculty and students;
2. Implementing joint research projects;
3. Promoting exchange of academic literature and information; and
4. Promoting other academic activities.

TUS and UCSC have been established the close cooperative relationship implementing the Silicon Valley Tech Track Summer Program this year. Eighteen TUS students had participated the intensive English and cultural program.
