The School of Business of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) will jointly launch Hong Kong’s first taught master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Global Marketing (MScEGM) in September 2018 with leading French business school Grenoble École de Management. Students of the programme will have an opportunity to pitch business ideas to investors in order to bid for up to HK$1 million of angel fund to start their own companies. The School will also provide entry scholarships totalling HK$1 million for the first batch of students with outstanding performance.

With an aim of preparing strategic business and brand leaders of tomorrow, the 15-month full-time Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Global Marketing programme offers students bi-continent learning experience and integrated practical training with global case studies and a business project addressing the principles and practices of entrepreneurship and international marketing management. It is specially designed for high-achieving fresh graduates and young executives who are keen on global roles. Students will be able to enrich their global exposure by spending one semester each in France and Hong Kong respectively. A joint award master’s degree will be issued by the two institutions upon successful completion of the programme.

The programme features an individual/team-based five-month business project or academic dissertation with mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders. Students will be able to start their own business by pitching ideas to investors to bid for Venture Capital Funding. They will also be armed with entrepreneurship tools for starting a business, as well as global marketing skills to grow and sustain it.

Dean of the HKBU School of Business and Chair Professor Edward Snape believes the partnership programme is a timely response to market demand. “The entrepreneurship theme is so relevant today. While Grenoble and Hong Kong are two very different places, they share a strong tradition of entrepreneurial activity. Students joining this innovative programme will be backed by strong industry connections and the academic strength of two great business schools.”

Dean and Director of Grenoble Graduate School of Business Dr Santiago Garcia said: “Grenoble École de Management, an institution with entrepreneurship and innovation in its DNA is proud to launch this unique programme that will allow participants to get the best of two unique vibrant, international, and innovative ecosystems put together by HKBU and Grenoble École de Management, two world-recognised institutions.”

Programme Director of MScEGM Dr Glos Ho said: “While more and more young people are interested in developing careers overseas, or turning their disruptive ideas into sustainable businesses, we believe it’s time to connect like-minded individuals with high potential through this unique programme. We are pleased to introduce this innovative joint programme with Grenoble École de Management, which ranked sixth in Le Point’s French Business Schools Ranking 2017.”
