PolyU confers University Fellowship on nine distinguished personalities

(22 November 2018) The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) today conferred the title of University Fellowship on nine outstanding individuals in recognition of their significant contribution to the University and community.

Presided over by Mr T C Chan, Chairman of the PolyU Council, the conferment ceremony was held at the Jockey Club Auditorium on PolyU campus. The recipients were warmly greeted by PolyU President, Professor Timothy W. Tong and other senior staff members of the University.

The fellowship recipients are (in alphabetical order of last name):

• Dr Sunny Chai, BBS, Group Managing Director of Fook Tin Group Holdings Limited

• Mr Chan Kam-lam, GBS, JP, President of Kingrich Asia Holdings Limited and Kingrich Trading Limited, and the Director of Shenyang Wuai World Enterprise Company Limited

• Dr Edward Chan Kwok-man, Founder and Managing Director of German Pool (Hong Kong) Company Limited

• Mr Jimmy Kwok Chun-wah, SBS, MH, JP, Managing Director of Rambo Chemicals in Hong Kong

• Dr Ng Chi-ho, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Suga International Holdings Limited

• Mr Richard Sun Po-yuen, JP, Hong Kong Certified Public Accountant and Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers

• Dr Elizabeth Wang Ming-chun, SBS, a popular and famous performing artist

• Mr Eric C. Yim, JP, Founder of POSH Office Systems (HK) Limited

• Dr Lunlun Zou, internationally acclaimed Guzheng virtuoso

Mr T C Chan, Chairman of PolyU Council, said the Fellowship recipients have contributed tremendously to PolyU’s development in different ways. He said, “They are exemplary and inspirational role models to our young generation. As Fellows of PolyU, they will render even more support to the University’s education and research developments, and further help PolyU connect with different sectors of the community. ”

Prof Timothy W Tong, PolyU President, commended the Fellowship recipients as “movers and shakers in their fields” who have made significant contributions to the development of PolyU and the society. He shared in his remarks that PolyU aims not only to help our young people develop successful careers in their professions, but also to help them become future leaders who possess a caring heart, a serving attitude and a strong sense of social responsibility.

By joining hands with the Fellows, PolyU will help create a great future for the society, the nation and the world.

PolyU has conferred University Fellowship on a total of 120 distinguished persons since the introduction of the scheme in 2000.
