H.E. Secretary Briones of Department of Education Philippines to join EduTECH Philippines and address 21st century quality education to all in the Philippines.

EduTECH Philippines - 20-21 February 2019, SMX Convention Center, Manila

In the past year, the education landscape in the Philippines has undergone major transformations. Over 50% (PHP 1.71 trillion) of the national budget was allocated to the education sector and new initiatives have been launched to improve education accessibility and create more opportunities for Filipinos.

At the EduTECH Philippines conference and exhibition, taking place 20-21 February 2019 at SMX Convention Center, Manila, educators, policymakers, decision makers, investors and partners will come together to help drive the Philippines’ education agenda forward.

Gracing the event is the Guest of Honour, H.E. Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, Secretary of Education, Department of Education, Philippines, who will deliver a keynote address at 10:00am on 20 February.

Building on the Department of Education's 2018 plans and reform initiatives to ensure better delivery of education to Filipino learners, H.E. Secretary Briones will share the plans to bring 21st century quality education to all.

Sharon Roessen, Managing Director at Terrapinn Asia commented, “We are delighted to be returning to Manila once again for the third edition of EduTECH Philippines and are honoured to have Secretary Briones joining us. To have the support of the Department of Education, the Commission on Higher Education and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority clearly cements EduTECH Philippines as a key annual event for educators and their partners in the Philippines. Our mission is to support educators and their partners in the Philippines to deliver a high standard of education for all students, and with that in mind, this year’s event is free to attend, so that all stakeholders can join this quest, regardless of budget”.

150+ expert speakers will take the stage across the free-to-attend event, delivering a series of case studies and sharing sessions across the 6 theatres of content – K-12, Tertiary, STEM, Tech Innovation, EduBUILD & Business of Education and #teachtechtalks.

Besides the conference sessions, the exhibition will feature a showcase of the latest education technologies by over 50 industry players and up-and-coming start-ups and a makerspace with hands-on activities by The Mind Museum and Makerspace Filipinas. Some of the exhibiting companies sharing their products and services include Globe Telecom, Lenovo, Microsoft, Intel, Akamai Technologies, PLDT, Canvas, Panopto, Moodle, Furnware and more.

The two-day free-to-attend conference and exhibition is expected to gather over 5,000 education stakeholders from Philippines and beyond.
