Keio establishes partnerships with 11 Indian HEIs

On the occasion of President Anzai’s first visit to India, and to begin strengthening its academic ties in that country, Keio University established 11 partnerships with Indian institutions:

Held on the occasion of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s recent visit to India to further the development of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between Japan and India, the Japan-India Dialogue of Vice Chancellors/Presidents on Academic Exchange between Japan and India was held on August 21, 2007. Co-chaired by President Anzai and Professor Sukhadeo Thorat, Chairman of the Indian University Grants Commission, the discussion brought together the presidents of twelve Japanese universities and the heads of fourteen Indian universities and institutes.

Following the discussion of possibilities for greater collaboration in higher education between the two countries, President Anzai and Professor Thorat met with Prime Minister Abe and Indian Human Resource Development Minister Argun Singh to discuss the results of the meeting.
