Researchers from Universiti Sains Malaysia bagged 3 gold and 3 silver medals at the International Trade Fair (Ideas-Inventions-New Products) held at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center, Germany at which 600 products were showcased.
Those who garnered gold medals were:
1) Prof. Madya Abdul Latif Ahmad from the School of Chemical Engineering together with Dr. Bassim Hj. Hameed dan Sumathi Sethupathi for their research effort, CHITEC: An Environmental Friendly and Biodegradable Polymer for Residue Oil Flocsorb.
2) Prof. Hanafi Ismail from the School of Mineral Resource Engineering in colloboration with Assoc. Prof. Baharin Azahari for their research product, OilZob A Novel and Reactive Oil Adsorbent from Various Rubber Wastes.
3) Dr. Nor Ashidi Mat Isa from the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering together with Rosniwati Ghafar (School of Health Sciences), Prof. Nor Hayati Othman (School of Medical Sciences) dan Sariah Rajuli for their research effort, DataPap : An Intelligent Database System for Cervical Cancer.
while those who won silver medals included:
1) En. Shamsu Mohamad from the School of Arts for his research effort,Eco Oil Palm Ash Glaze.
2) Assoc.Prof. Chan Lai Keng from the School of Biological Sciences together with Prof. Boey Peng Lim for their research product, Benchtop Airlift Plant Propagation Culture Vessel.
3) Dr. Nor Ashidi Mat Isa from the School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering together with Dr. Harsa Amylia Mat Sakim, Assoc.Prof. Mohd. Yusoff Mashhor, Prof. Dr. Nor Hayati Othman (School of Medical Sciences) and Norhidayati Abu Seman for their research product, NeuralMammo Diagnosis System for Breast Canser Based on Neural Network
