Animal Nutrition Association
The Animal Nutrition Association (ANA) made its modest beginning in the year 1993 at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, as Animal Nutrition Club with the objective of maintaining a liaison among the scientists who were associated with Animal Nutrition Division in one way or the other. Its activities attracted other members of the profession and on their request and support the club was converted into Association with broader objectives of fostering kinness among all personnel related to the feeding of livestock.
ANA has so far successfully organized four biennial conferences to provide opportunities to exchange knowledge and to present the latest advances in animal nutrition and feeding strategies with various cross scientific disciplines.
The themes of the conferences were:
1. Feeding strategies for eco-friendly animal production in India.
February 14–15, 1997 at Regional Station, Indian Veterinary Research Institute,
Palampur - 176 061, India
2. Feeding strategies for sustainable livestock production with emphasis on conventional feeds and system for protein evaluation in ruminants.
June 19–20, 1998 at Indian Veterinary Research Institute,
Izatnagar - 243 122, (UP) India
3. Livestock feeding strategies in the new millenium.
November 07–09, 2000 at CCS Haryana Agricultural University
Hisar - 125 004, India (Proceedings available on request)
4. Globalization: Challenges to animal nutritionists.
November 20–22, 2002 at West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences,
Kolkata - 700 037, India.
5. New dimensions of animal feeding to sustain development and Competitiveness.
