Youth Solat Camp to Nurture Admirable Individuals

The Islamic Centre of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organized a Youth Solat Camp for the staffs’ children and it was aimed to nurture admirable personalities through the practice of solat (prayers).

The prgramme coordinator, Alzasha Illiyyin said the programme held at Kalumpang Resort and Training Centre stressed on the practice of solat, both in theory and hands-on, to create awareness amongst the children of Muslims obligatory, to mold fine demureness and how to respect their parents.

“42 youths, comprised of 10 to 16 year old participated in this year’s camp and attended by five facilitators hailed from UPM, Darul Quran Kuala Kubu, Insaniah College University, Mergong, Kedah and Northern University Malaysia,” she added.

A participant, Muhammad Khairil Asyraf, 14, said as a whole the programme such as this is excellent in nurturing the Islamic way of life within a child.

“Apart from that, the camp completed my holidays. I’m aspired to be more responsible in performing my Islamic duties,” he concluded. Asyraf is a student with yang Lower Secondary School of Agama Repah, Tampin, Negeri Sembilan.
