Spotlights on Excellent Researchers from Southeast Asia

New Publication: Mapping Study on Excellent Researchers from Southeast Asia

This excellence mapping study by the Centre for Social Innovation in Vienna
presents a selection of scientists from different fields of study and offers the reader
information about focus of work, recent publications and awards received as well as
contact details for each scientist and institution. The selection is based on a range of
national and regional science awards which were evaluated by the ZSI in
cooperation with project partners in Southeast Asia.

Without pretending to give a complete picture, the study is designed to give
European scientists an idea of the wealth of scientific excellence present in
Southeast Asia. Introduced to the public at the SEA-EU-NET Stakeholder Conference
in Indonesia in November 2009 and opened to the European S&T Community during
the last weeks, the mapping study attracted high interest - not only among
scientist, but also among different science networkers and policy makers.

Linking Southeast Asia with Europe is the core objective of the European
Commission funded project SEA-EU-NET. With partners from European and most
Southeast Asian countries this project aims to provide information about S&T in
Southeast Asia, publicise the European S&T funding schemes, and create stable
networks between the two regions.
