They comprise 714 students from the Main Campus and the Engineering Campus, USM as well as 238 students from the USM Health Campus. They will undergo training in eight selected camps in Perak, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
Apart from the students, a total of 240 others including academicians, administrators and student leaders will participate in the programme as facilitators in order to ensure the success of the programme.
Pimpin Siswa is a training module developed by the Student Self-Development Sector of the Student Affairs and Development Division, USM to enhance and strengthen the character and values of the students in all aspects covering both academic and spiritual needs.
The programme, which is compulsory for new students, was first introduced last year after USN was accorded Apex status.
