Two lecturers have joined the prestigious league of Fulbright scholars after having been selected as Research Fellows by the Fulbright Scholarship Board. They are Assoc. Prof. Dr Chan Yuen Fook from the Faculty of Education, and Prof. Dr Rosalan Ali from the Faculty of Business Management.

Both recipients, who serve in UiTM Shah Alam, are among five academicians from Malaysian universities eligible for the Fulbright research awards for the period 2010-2011. Their success at securing the research fellowship makes UiTM the dominant recipient university of Fulbright grants for the duration.

Dr Chan left for the United States in September this year and is attached to Indiana University’s College of Education. He will be there until February 2011, and will be engaged in research on evaluation methods.

Prof. Rosalan will leave for the United States in December this year, and will be attached to Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University. He will be conducting research on asset-backed securities, and is scheduled to complete his attachment in May 2011.

The research initiatives undertaken by both Prof. Rosalan and Dr Chan are jointly sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State, and the Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE).
