EXCELLENT RESEARCHER AWARD FOR USM LECTURER

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zainovia Lockman, a researcher in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), has won the Young Researcher in Solid State Science & Technology Research 2010 Award for her significant contributions in this field.

Her success has proven that researcher from USM are moving in tandem with USM’s vision in Transforming Higher Education for a Sustainable Tomorrow.

Awarded by the Malaysian Solid State Science & Technology Society (MASS), Dr. Zainovia Lockman received this recognition at the 3rd International Conference on Solid State & Technology 2010 dinner in Sarawak.

She was nominated by the School of Materials & Mineral Resources Engineering (PPKBSM) based on her excellent achievements and contributions in the field of Solid State Science.

Among the awards that she has received are L’Oreal Malaysia Women in Science Fellowship 2009 and the Young Scientist Award by Springer 2010 at the Diffusion in Solid and Liquid Conference in Paris, France.

Apart from this, she has also been invited to present papers at international conferences such as The 3rd Congress on Ceramics in Osaka, Japan in November 2010. In addition to having introduced various methods in oxidants, chemicals and oxidation process she is a prolific writer as she has produced 40 articles in journals since 2000 and more than 10 international articles.
