Job Overview
The goal of the Supporting Inclusive Growth (SIG) Program is to support rigorous and policy-oriented research that generates new insights and options for promoting policies that facilitate inclusive growth. The program focuses on two thematic areas: the enhancement of enterprise development, entrepreneurship and innovation; and the facilitation of growth with decent jobs. Using the IDRC “grants plus" model, the program will support applied research through a combination of modalities including networks, competitive grants, and other (solicited or unsolicited) requests for grants.
As the Program Management Officer, you will contribute to the development and operation of the Program, produce documentation, and coordinate and disseminate information in support of the program management. Your principal responsibilities will include information management, research support, program coordination, monitoring and evaluation, communications (including inputs for a newly-developing website) and network development, and liaising with key internal and external constituents.
Candidate Profile
Education
• Master’s degree in a relevant social science discipline such as international development, economics, or public administration
Experience
Position requires one to three years of relevant work experience, which includes:
• coordinating projects, conferences and meetings,
• monitoring and compiling research results,
• communicating research, for public and policy audiences
• preparing reports and briefing notes as well as minute taking
• building and maintaining partnerships,
• undertaking independent research,
• using data analysis software and managing a database and website is an asset, and
• working in developing regions is an asset.
Language
• Bilingual (English/French) position at an intermediate level
• Proficiency in Spanish is an asset
Knowledge
• Understanding of promoting inclusive growth issues and challenges in developing world
• Knowledge of project management principles
• Understanding of research-policy linkages
• Familiarity with evaluation methods is an asset

• Sound MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, website management and information management skills including comfort with specialized information management software
• Awareness of and sensitivity to individual, gender and cultural differences
