Oblation statue exhibit at UPD

The Oblation, University of the Philippines' most iconic symbol, is the focus of the current photo exhibit at the Office of the Chancellor Foyer, University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD).

Entitled “The Oblation through the Years,” the 5-panel exhibition presents glimpses of the important milestones and events in the statue and the University’s history, from its inception as commissioned by UP President Rafael Palma in the early 1920s, its creation by College of Fine Arts professor Guillermo Tolentino—who was later named National Artist for Sculpture, its unveiling at the Manila campus in 1935 and its transfer to Diliman in 1949.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
