UiTM students helping communities through CLOSE

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) students aim to help provide community services through CLOSE project.

An integrated program with the theme "We the Tour We Help" Exploration Chains Of Love (CLOSE) organized by the students of Mass Communication (Hons) Broadcasting, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, in collaboration with the television program Bersamamu TV3, Media Prima Berhad and Manjung Municipal Council, was held on 8 to 11 March, at the shadow of the King Bay Village, Pangkor Island, Perak, Malaysia. The program aims to provide community services to the poor and less fortunate.

The launch of the program was completed by the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Dato 'Ir Dr Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar. Also present were representatives from the Vale Malaysia Manufacturing, which is the main sponsor for this CLOSE Program. Other sponsors involved are Bank support, the Capacity Building Foundation, Tesco Stores Malaysia and Karangkraf.

Via the "1Malaysia" concept advocated by the Prime Minister with UiTM slogan "Changing Destiny Organizations", the program participated CLOSE 120 UiTM students and four lecturers have been realized through a number of charitable activities undertaken as SULIT Aedes, hosting Competition and Exhibition Organizations of Destiny. At the same time, this volunteer program as well as to strengthen the university's aspiration to produce graduates who are holistic by using knowledge gained and held to contribute and give back to society.
