Kuala Lumpur, 2 September 2015 – Pharma+Bio Asia 2015, an all-encompassing convention for the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries, will take place at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 2 – 4 September 2015. Held alongside the event will be Pharma+Bio Asia 2015 Conference, which is expected to attract more than 200 delegates, the BioInnovation Awards 2015, a prestigious annual awards honouring outstanding innovation in pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals, and the Profiling of Drug Dissolution, Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics Workshop co-sponsored by the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.

Jointly organized by PROTEMP Group and Malaysian Association of Research Scientists (MARS), Pharma+Bio Asia 2015 will bring together the professionals, key industry players, policy makers, and the latest innovations and technologies in every area related to the expanding world of pharma and biopharma, including cosmeceuticals, nutraceuticals, natural products and herbs, manufacturing and processing technology, analytics, laboratory technology and more. The event will also offer extensive networking opportunities through business matching programmes and networking events.

The event’s focus on biopharmaceuticals is timely as pharmaceuticals and biotechnology are increasingly integrating into one large biopharmaceutical industry. Deloitte’s 2014 Global Life Sciences Outlook foresees the expansion of global pharmaceutical sales by an annual average of 5.3 percent between 2012, with much of the growth coming from US, UK and BRIC countries. The outlook for the Asian region is similarly optimistic, as economic and demographic trends continue to boost demand. The region’s healthcare spending is expected to keep growing at a steady average rate of 7.6 percent through 2013-2017 and will prompt many major pharma companies to tap new opportunities in this region.

According to Denise Ang, Group Project Director of PROTEMP Group, “Pharma+Bio Asia 2015 is envisioned as a complete trade event for the pharma and biopharma industries. The event comprises several focused, concurrent events covering many areas ranging from pharmaceutical technologies, manufacturing and processing, raw materials to lab equipment.
