Thomson Reuters Names KAIST as Asia’s Most Innovative University

Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) ranked first in the list of Asia’s most innovative top 75 universities, which was released on August 30, 2016 by Thomson Reuters.

The list was created to identify educational institutions that are “doing the most to advance science, invent new technologies, and help drive the global economy.”

According to the ranking, which was based on research papers and patent information, KAIST produces original and influential research and its patent portfolios are cited as significant prior art in other organizations’ own patent applications, a strong indicator that the university has an outsized impact on global research and development.
