NTUs Temasek Laboratories, School of Art, Design and Media (SADM), as well as Game Lab are working on collaborative projects with the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and University of Southern California (USC) to push new frontiers in the development of creative technologies. To mark the collaboration, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between NTU, DSTA and USC on 4th March 2005 at NTU. This collaboration is the first-of-its kind that links the local education and defence communities with the entertainment/gaming industries, military and academia in the United States of America (US). It is also expected to unleash a strong coalition in developing creative applications of technology for gaming, media, and defence applications. The collaboration will see research talent from Singapore and the US working closely to develop new technologies in the areas of animation, artificial intelligence, gaming as well as modeling and simulation.
