Exhibition by USM's Underwater Robotics Research Group

Penang, 9 Nov - In a press conference today, USM's Underwater Robotics Research Group, presented some of their latest systems.

An exhibition on the underwater and marine related technology developed in the Underwater Robotics Research Group (URRG), USM.
The exhibited vehicles and platforms signify the progress in developing underwater system and technology within Malaysia.

The major system which were exhibited were the Intelligent Hybrid Underwater Vehicle, Underwater Glider System, Vertical Profiler, Drosobot – ASV, Autonomous Surface Vessel and a Remotely-Operated Vehicle (ROV) system.

All these novel marine platforms are developed in-house in URRG, USM. The National Oceanography Directorate (NOD), under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), provided the main financial support. The market for the system and technology developed can be utilized for commercial, industrial and defence applications.
