Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council visits PolyU

A 20-member delegation of the Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council (HKYIC) visited The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) on 27 April to see the latest development of the University and to exchange views on Hong Kong's industries.

Professor Angelina Yuen, Vice President (Institutional Advancement and Partnership), addressed the delegation and said, "With the opening of the Shenzhen Base this year, the University will be well set to launch its service in support of the development of the Pearl River Delta region. The Base will create an all-round platform for higher education, executive training, consultancy and R&D activities."

On behalf of the University, Professor Roy Chung, PolyU Court Chairman and Chairman of Departmental Advisory Committee of the School of Design, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. "We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to HKYIC for their continuous support to the University. We look forward to further collaboration between PolyU and the industrial sector for the promotion of new technology and innovative products," he said.

The delegation visited the State Key Laboratory in Ultra-precision Machining Technology, and laboratories and teaching facilities of the Institute of Textiles and Clothing and the School of Design (SD). SD students also shared with the guests their design projects and ideas. HKYIC representatives included President Mr Nelson Ho, Vice President Mr Arthur Lee and Mr Jacky Cheung, Executive Committee members and YIC Youth Chapter members.
