White Wave Strategy

“ There is a need for new strategy as the world today suffers from the lack of social justice, which has become an odd attribute of most national economies”, said MARA’s Chairman Y. B. Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh.

For this reason he said, we need a system which can offers humanity with solutions to problems created by imperfect man made political systems and moral values.

“The root cause of all present time economic curses is the existence of a value system devoid of any ethical or moral standards”, he said.

According to him, the basic apprehension of development in the economic system is that of human welfare.

“This is so, because, human beings are the dynamic agents who accumulate and exploit inert factors like capital and natural resources to build social, economic and political organisations and thus carry forward national development. We need to incorporate the social mobility, economic expansion, and environmental conservation and protection. ”, he added.

He said this during the Intellectual Discourse session at UniKL City Campus on April 17, 2012. During the session, he presented his idea on “White Wave Strategy”.

Also present were IQRA Foundation Board of Trustee, Y.Bhg.Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim, UniKL Chairman, Y.B. Datuk Dr. Adham Baba, UniKL President and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Hakim Juri and UniKL Deputy President (Industrial Linkages), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su'ud.

Present State of Affairs

Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said, secular and materialist worldviews fix maximum importance to the material aspect of human well-being and tend generally to disregard the importance of the spiritual aspect. He said, they usually believes that the greatest material well-being can be best realised if individuals are given unrestricted liberty to pursue their self-interest and to capitalize on their want satisfaction in keeping with their own tastes and predilections.

“The origin cause of all present time blights lies in the acquisitive interests oriented prevailing value judgment system, which does not carry any trait of morality and ethics. So here, we need new strategy namely the white wave strategy in creating the value-laden rules and regulations which can be used to fulfill mankind's urge for development and modernisation”, he said.

Bitter Reality

Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said, currently the human beings are also ‘forced’ to believe in bitter reality about the current civilization.

“There is no doubt, at current civilization has assumed an unparalleled speed, portrayed by far-fetched technological advancement in various aspects and terrific economic struggle. But this competition has separated the individuals into competing sectors and the states also are turning antagonistic to one another on the basis of nationalism and economic opportunism and expediency”, he said.
