Parabolic Flight Mission for Universiti Kuala Lumpur

During the Parabolic Flight, the team endured hyper and microgravity conditions due to extreme flight manoeuvres of the jet and the team performed several experiments to collect data regarding the rate of transfer of moisture from bath towel to human skin.

The team was led by Dr. Mohd Harridon of Universiti Kuala Lumpur and the team consist of two students of Universiti Kuala Lumpur Zaim Ismail and Zaim M. Nor while Helmy Hashim, an expert in Material Science and also a veteran of Microgravity Experiment from the National Space Agency of Malaysia (ANGKASA) acted as the consultant of the team.

“We managed to collect huge amount of data during hyper and microgravity conditions. With these data, we can make a deduction of the transfer rate of moisture during hyper and microgravity conditions. It was not that easy to perform several tasks during those conditions but we manage to do it and it was great to experience hyper and micro gravity conditions and we even did acrobatic moves during micro gravity”, said Zaim Ismail.

“Everyone played a role in the team and we performed well in our roles. I’m proud to represent Universiti Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia and we had overcome difficulties during the flights to collect important data. I really appreciate the opportunity given to me by Universiti Kuala Lumpur and I learned a lot during the mission. Fully floating in the air is quite an experience”, stated Zaim M Nor.

“I’m proud that the team had a successful mission and it shows that team work will lead to success. Universiti Kuala Lumpur had developed the students really well. Experiencing Hyper and Micro Gravity conditions is great and the collaboration between Universiti Kuala Lumpur, ANGKASA, and JAXA had led to the alleviation of Aerospace Science. I thank everyone at Universiti Kuala Lumpur, ANGKASA, and JAXA for all their help”, said Dr. Mohd Harridon.”
