Standardized E.longifolia TAF 273 is the first Tongkat Ali product prepared using the soft-gel capsule technology. The standardized extract has been manufactered by a novel extraction and purification technology involving the use of rapid chromatograpic separation. This proprietary process has enabled the enrichment of the desired bioactive chemical constituents in the extract with the concurrent removal and reduction of the unwanted inactive or toxic components. By this technology, the yield of the bioactive constituents has been increased more than ten fold when compared to any other conventional methods.

For the first time, a standardized extract of E.longifolia is formulated in a soft-gel capsule containing a vehicle capable of enhancing the stability and bioavailability of the bioactive molecules crucial to ensure a reproducible efficiency. The new dosage formulation has eliminated oxidation of the extract and masked the bitterness of Tongkat Ali.

Infertility is a major problem amongst 10-15% of married couples where the male partner contributes to 30-40% of the cause. Tongkat Ali has long been used as a traditional herbal remedy for the enhancement of male libido. The present soft-gel capsule containing the standardized E-longifolia extract TAF 273 has been developed against infertility of males due to low sperm count and motility. It has been scientifically proven to increase the sperm count and motility induced by drugs. The product has been subjected to comprehensive pharmacological and texicological studies in different animal species.

The present invention has a commercial potential to be developed as the first orally active herbal remedy for the short term treatment of male infertility due to low sperm count.
