The 11th Pacific-Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD 2007) is a leading international conference in the areas of data mining and knowledge discovery. It provides an international forum for researchers and industry practitioners to share their new ideas, original research results and practical development experiences from all KDD related areas including data mining, data warehousing, machine learning, databases, statistics, knowledge acquisition and automatic scientific discovery, data visualization, causal induction and knowledge-based systems.

The conference calls for research papers reporting original investigation results and industrial track papers reporting real data mining applications and system development experience. This workshop will be held together with PAKDD 2007. The successful development of Data Mining (DM) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for business, government and science applications requires a deep understanding of the application context as well as of state-of-the-art processes, methods and tools. To achieve this, companies and universities work in close contact.

To promote the exchange of ideas between researchers and practitioners, from companies, government and universities by presenting and discussing:

- Case studies and experience reports of the application of data mining (DM) and business intelligence (BI) technologies, emphasizing the benefits as well as the lessons learned
- Challenges and innovative applications of DM & BI
- Integration of DM & BI with other technologies and business processes
