9th International Women’s Human Rights (IWHR)

Women and Gender Institute (WAGI), Miriam College’s specialized center for advocacy on women’s issues, gender equality and non-sexist education annually offers a summer course on international women’s human rights. It is the first academic-based women’s human rights course offered in the Philippines.

It examines the use of international human rights instruments from both gender and Asian perspectives. The training is designed for educators, NGO workers, technical staff of legislators and mid-level public servants from national agencies and other professionals who seek to deepen their understanding of women’s human rights issues and challenges and endeavor to work on the practical application of human rights instruments in their respective professions. Special focus of 2007 Summer Institute will be Migration and Trafficking of Women, Gender and ICT, and Economic Dimension of Women’s Human Rights.

Course Fee (Inclusive of materials, exposures, and lunch):

Php 6,000.00 for professionals, academics and students residing in the Philippines
US$ 200.00 for international participants
