Environmental reporting course in China

This course aims to help journalists improve their technique in covering environmental news. The programme includes seminars, field trips and presentations from environmental experts designed to develop participants’ awareness of environmental issues.

This course aims to help journalists improve their technique in covering environmental news, so that their stories are compelling, informative and easy to read, whilst being accurate, balanced and responsible. The programme includes seminars, field trips and presentations from environmental experts designed to develop participants’ awareness of environmental issues.

Eligibility
All applicants for this course must be currently working as full time journalists for Chinese media organisations . They must also be able to demonstrate a commitment to a career in journalism in their country. Applicants must have at least two years' professional experience and must have a good level in spoken and written English.

Funding
Course fees will be covered by Reuters Foundation and Tsinghua university. Participants from outside Beijing will be able to claim travel costs and will be provided with student-style accommodation for the duration of the course. For more information please email [email protected]

Submissions
* A biography of up to 250 words outlining your career.
* Two recent examples of your published work, preferably relevant to the course for which you are applying, with a brief summary in English (if necessary). TV/Radio journalists can send in their scripts and a brief summary.
* A statement of between 250 and 500 words describing any factors affecting your work as a journalist. Explain how you hope to benefit from the course for which you are applying.
