Equitable Access: Research challenges for health in developing countries

Beijing, China - It brings together several hundred policy-makers, researchers and research leaders, and representatives of development agencies, research institutions and the private sector to address the gaps in health research.

The Forum meeting of the Global Forum for Health Research has become established as a premier annual event that brings together policy-makers, development partners and the directors and users of research, to debate critical gaps and to mobilize campaigns that address the health needs of the poor and marginalized. We are pleased to announce that, at the invitation of the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China, Forum 11 will take place in Beijing from 29 October to 2 November 2007.

Who will take part?

The Global Forum’s annual meeting provides the opportunity for presentations and exchange of views on key issues on the global health agenda. It brings together several hundred policy-makers, researchers and research leaders, and representatives of development agencies, research institutions and the private sector to address the gaps in health research.

Participants from a broad range of constituencies are expected to be present: health and development ministries, multilateral and bilateral agencies, research-oriented bodies and universities, NGOs and civil society, the private sector, the media.

English is the working language of the meeting.
