International Conference on Engineering for Sustainable Energy in Developing Countries

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - The purpose of this Conference is to provide a forum for scientists, engineers, economists, and decision-making officials to discuss and appreciate the various aspects involving the implementation of sustainable energy programs.

The purpose of this Conference is to provide a forum for scientists, engineers, economists, and decision-making officials to discuss and appreciate the various aspects involving the implementation of sustainable energy programs and the engineering associated to such implementation, giving emphasis to poverty eradication and relief. Ways and means for improving the efficacy of implementing sustainable energy programs in developing economies will be highlighted.

The Conference, sponsored by the Energy Committee of WFEO (World Federation of Engineering Organizations) and FEBRAE (Brazilian Federation of Engineering Associations), with the support of CONFEA (Federal Council for Engineering, Architecture and Agronomy), UPADI (Pan American Union of Engineering Associations), UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and of Clube de Engenharia of Rio de Janeiro, aims at discussing issues in the following areas:

Energy and poverty eradication: the demand side;
Energy sources for developing economies: the supply side;
Role of International Organizations: the political side.

The event is aimed at scientists, engineers, economists, government authorities, policy-makers and company executives in the areas of energy and strategic planning.
