International Conference on Sensors and Related Networks

Tamil Nadu, India - This event is organised considering the developments taking place in the vital area of sensors and related networking.

The recent advances in sensors, sensor technologies and their networking techniques have been powered by high speed and low cost electronics circuits, novel signal processing methods and innovative advances in manufacturing technologies. The revolution taking place in these areas have significant impact on a broad range of applications relating to healthy care, the environment energy, energy systems, automation engineering, food safety national security and manufacturing.

Present R & D activities are focusing at more sensitive and powerful Sensor Systems with increased performance and functionality.

In addition, the advances in the miniaturization, low power circuit designs, low power wireless communication systems and other networking techniques have enabled a new technological vision of advanced wireless sensor networks and other integrated networking possible. Research, academia and industry from various disciplines are converging and cooperating to develop and deploy the various types of wireless sensor networks optical fiber bases networking for various applications ranging from forest fire detection, chemical toxic early warning systems to power plant monitoring and defence applications. For wireless sensor networks for real time applications, quality of service, reliability, integrity, robustness and fault tolerance become key issues.

Considering the developments taking place in the vital area of sensors and related networking, an International Conference on Sensors and related Networks “ SENNET ’07 ” is being organized at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), VIT University, Vellore during December 12-14, 2007. The conference is jointly organized by VIT, Vellore and Indian Nuclear Society, Kalpakkam Chapter in association with University of Applied Sciences, Karlsruhe, Germany.

The Conference intends to bring together the Academia, Industry and R & D Organizations working in these fields around the world to share their innovative ideas, research experience and establish collaboration for further developmental activities.
SENNET’07 will have key note addresses by Eminent personalities in the field and which will be embedded with plenary sessions and plenary talks where distinguished invited speakers will discuss issues of interest. In addition, there will be renowned invited speakers who will address issues of specific interest on sensors and related networking issues to the community. The conference will have large number of paper presentation sessions.

Pre Conference tutorials on ‘Sensor Technology’, and ‘Wireless Sensor Networks’ will be conducted , on December 10-11, 2007 at VIT, Vellore.
