The three-day event will present a brilliant line-up of artists from around the world, bringing a captivating experience for fans of real music — from wherever in the world it may come.

LIVE PERFORMANCES
Choose your own experience from the festival with six to eight unique performances alternating between six stages. From ancient rhythms to cutting-edge sounds, it is a musical fusion of the traditional and the contemporary.

Key highlight acts Asian Dub Foundation, Youssou N’Dour & the Super Etoile de Dakar and Daara J are only playing once. Not to forget the not-to-be-missed collaborative performance featuring WOMAD artists on stage together led by the charismatic Johnny Kalsi of the Dhol Foundation on Sunday night!

WORKSHOPS
A very special part of the WOMAD experience is the artist’s workshop programme. Artists who are performing at the festival will be on hand to share their inspirations and musical experiences with our audience in Singapore. In the relaxed and beautiful setting of Fort Canning Park, we invite you to explore the musical landscapes of Niger, Scotland, Brazil, Iran, South Africa and Japan. Enter into the whirlwind of a traditional Scottish ceilidh or learn about the fascinating facts behind traditional Iranian ancient instruments. Come and hear the stories behind the music, try out the moves or simply observe spontaneous musical collaborations with some of the fantastic musicians performing at WOMAD Singapore 2007.

TASTE THE WORLD
Stepping into WOMAD at Fort Canning Park has always presented audiences with the chance not just to sample music from around the world but also to dip into some of the delicious dishes on offer in our Global Village. Now we invite you to Taste the World with artists performing at the festival. Over recent
years WOMAD has discovered that in addition to their passion for music, many of our artists have an equal passion for food and are as creative in the kitchen as they are on stage.

Join us as Clube Do Balanço (Brazil), Muntu Valdo (Cameroon), Daara J (Senegal), Etran Finatawa (Niger), Shooglenifty (Scotland) and OKI Dub Ainu Band (Japan) whip up a gastronomic storm at our Culinary Stage. Walk into their kitchen, watch the process, hear the stories, taste a morsel and take home the moment... and the recipe!

URBAN FORT CLUB SETS
Meet the ambassadors of the British-Asian music scene, Bobby Friction and Nihal. Their award winning show on BBC Radio 1, has connected a new generation of listeners to their sounds known as ‘British-Asian Urban Nation’. Now experience their dynamic show at WOMAD’s Urban Fort. The duo is bound to get you moving until the early hours of the morning!

Beside Bobby Friction and Nihal, check out Singapore’s very own r-H as he spins around selected WOMAD artists on the bill in a special collaborative club performance! Special appearance also by DJ Marvin Kam.

HOLISTIC AREA
Soothe your mind, body and soul! The brand-new Holistic Area offers a getaway from the maddening crowd of the festival. Set up just like a secret garden tucked away near Fort Gate Stage, indulge in reiki healing, palmistry services and browse through the offerings of the range of unique vendors we have just for you.
