19th International Geophysical Conference and Exhibition

Perth, Australia - The conference will feature a three day exhibition and four days of technical presentations, plus an opening panel discussion on Peak Oil.

The conference and exhibition will be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre in Western Australia, from 18-22 November 2007. Perth, located on the banks of the sparkling Swan River, is the centre of the oil and gas industry of Australia, the exploration base for the majority of mining companies in Australia and Australia's sunniest capital city.

With the assistance of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia (PESA) and the Formation Evaluation Society of Australia (FESAus), ASEG will present one of the world's leading resource exploration geophysics forums. 2007 also celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the International Geophysical Year.

The conference will feature a three day exhibition and four days of technical presentations, plus an opening panel discussion on Peak Oil. The panel will be moderated by Professor Lynn Beazley (WA Chief Scientist) and keynote speakers will include Dr Bruce Robinson (ASPO) and Mr Abdullah Al Naim (VP Exploration, Saudi Aramco).

The conference theme "exploration & beyond" invites discussion on the philosophies, technologies and practices that will lead to exploration and production success.

The response to the call for papers has been so outstanding and the quality so high, that presentations in the petroleum stream will continue on the fourth day of the conference, which traditionally has been minerals / near surface papers.

Pre and post conference workshops presented by selected industry leaders, will provide an opportunity for intensive applied learning in limited attendance sessions.

In addition to the extensive technical program, the social program will provide an opportunity for your organisation to develop additional contacts and reinforce your position and profile within the industry.

The official closing ceremony will be held at the end of the third day when the exhibition closes, although the technical sessions will continue throughout Thursday.
