George Bush China-U.S. Relations Conference 2007

Washington, D.C. - The conference series on China-U.S. relations has become a tremendous success because of the strength of the conference program and the caliber of speakers and attendees.

The George Bush China-U.S. Relations Conference: Development, Energy, and Security is scheduled for October 22-25, 2007. The conference will be held in Washington, DC at the J.W. Marriott Hotel at 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Texas A&M University, the George Bush School of Government and Public Service, the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries are pleased to host this third biennial conference that is helping to expand academic and business opportunities and to strengthen one of the most important global relationships.

The conference series on China-U.S. relations has become a tremendous success because of the strength of the conference program and the caliber of speakers and attendees. Representatives from China and the United States have made great progress in furthering collaboration and research between the two countries since the first conference in 2003. At the second conference in Beijing in 2005, existing collaborations were strengthened and new relationships were established.

Because of former President George Bush’s strong support for this effort, the conference series has been named in his honor and is known as the George Bush China-U.S. Relations Conference.

To continue the significant work from the first two conferences, the third conference in the series on China-U.S. relations is scheduled for October 22-25, 2007. The George Bush China-U.S. Relations Conference: Development, Energy, and Security will be held in Washington, D.C. at the J.W. Marriott Hotel at 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The J.W. Marriott Hotel has been host to numerous important events and Washington, D.C. is an ideal city for a conference that engages academic and corporate leaders, and government officials. Conducting the conference in D.C. allows for the attendance of high-level U.S. government representatives. Chinese officials located at the Chinese Embassy will also be able to attend more easily.

The 2007 conference consists of three days. The first day will be devoted to keynote addresses and other speakers and the second two days will consist of fora and research roundtable sessions.
