Offshore Asia Conference & Exhibition (OA08) 2008

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - More than 3,000 offshore oil & gas professionals are expected to attend this regional showcase for suppliers of products and services to the offshore industry.

The 3rd annual Offshore Asia Conference & Exhibition (OA08) returns to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, on 17-19 March 2008.

More than 3,000 offshore oil & gas professionals are expected to attend this regional showcase for suppliers of products and services to the offshore industry.

Running alongside the exhibition is a three-day conference addressing the issues and challenges facing the industry in the Asia-Pacific region.

NEW FOR 2008!

Offshore Asia 2008 incorporates a conference track on Multiphase fluid transportation and flowmeter technologies.

Expanding economies in Malaysia, India, China and all of Southeast Asia are creating enormous demand for oil and gas. As a result, offshore exploration and development activity in the Asia-Pacific arena is set to grow for the foreseeable future.

The 2008 Offshore Asia Conference and Exhibition examines the newest developments in this rapidly expanding offshore area. The conference theme “New Growth, Technology and Market Changes” focuses on the challenges of the Asian offshore arena – growth, opportunity and changing operating conditions.
Technical sessions this year will include topics such as:
• Trends in Asia/Pacific Offshore E&P
• Kikeh Field – Planning, Execution & Lessons Learned
• Field Development Advances
• Production Systems: Innovation & Optimization
• New Technology for Flowlines & Pipelines
• Changes in Mooring & Station-Keeping
Increasing the technical scope of the conference, this year’s event will include a special track on Multiphase fluid transportation and flowmeter technologies which provide the industry with new options for handling more efficiently and economically the complex
fluid streams produced from oil and gas fields. These technologies have found uses in land and offshore operations that produce light and heavy oil as well as wet gas.
This conference track will cover the theory and practice, lessons learned from current installations and future potential for these technologies.
Industry professionals are gathering from throughout the world and from the energy centers of the Asia-Pacific area – including Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand and India – for this event, the only conference focused entirely on Asian offshore exploration and production. Last year’s event attracted more than 2,250 visitors from 26 countries around the world and there is little doubt that this year’s event will be much larger.
The Offshore Asia Conference was created by PennWell in response to the growing importance of the Asia-Pacific region in
meeting the energy needs of expanding economies throughout the world. These growing economic centers are creating enormous demand for oil and gas, with the result that offshore exploration and development activity in the Asia-Pacific arena promises to grow beyond all historical levels.
