Energy Security and Climate Change: Issues, Strategies and Options Conference

The Energy Field of Study, Asian Institute of Technology in cooperation with the Regional Energy Resources Information Center (RERIC) will be organizing an International Conference on “Energy Security and Climate Change: Issues, Strategies, and Options (ESCC 2008)” to take place from 6 to 8 August 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand.

ESCC 2008 is envisioned to continue, support, and encourage the world’s attention to the very pressing global issues of energy security and climate change. It will be a venue that will provide an intellectual exchange between members of the academe, industrial sectors, research institutions, multilateral and bilateral agencies, non-governmental organizations, government institutions, and policy makers from all over the world. Oral paper presentations will be the attractions of this conference. It is expected that this conference will highlight new research findings and strategic approaches towards energy security and combating climate change.

As the theme is of current interest, ESCC 2008 will cover technical, economic, social, and political dimensions of energy security and climate change, tackling specific areas such as:

Abstracts and manuscripts can be submitted either online at the conference website http://www.serd.ait.ac.th/escc or through email at [email protected]. Selected quality papers will be published in a Special Issue of the International Energy Journal, ISSN 1513-718X (http://www.rericjournal.ait.ac.th) upon the joint approvals of the technical committee and the author.
