Deciphering the Leukaemia Genome Using Next Generation Sequencing Technologies
We believe this will be an exceptional opportunity for you to learn about the application of next generation sequencing technologies for analysis of the leukaemia genome.
Malaysian Genomics Resource Centre Sdn Bhd (MGRC) is pleased to invite you to a lecture to be presented by Dr. Elaine Mardis from Washington University's Genome Sequencing Center (WUGSC).
Title:Deciphering the Leukaemia Genome Using Next Generation Sequencing Technologies
Date:25 March 2008
Time:2:00 - 5.00 pm
Venue:Plenary Theatre Auditorium, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre
Dr. Elaine Mardis is the Co-Director of the WUGSC in St. Louis, Missouri. She holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Chemistry and a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Mardis has been at the WUGSC since 1993, playing a pivotal role in the evaluation, optimisation and application of novel sequencing instrumentation, chemistry and molecular biology. As Director of the "Technology Development" division, she helped develop automation and pipelines for sequencing the Human Genome. She currently orchestrates the GSC's efforts to explore next generation sequencing technologies and to transition them into the Center's production sequencing efforts. Dr. Mardis has published many peer reviewed papers, which have appeared in publications such as Nucleic Acid Research, Nature and BMC Bioinformatics. She is also a frequent invited speaker at various conferences.
