Seminar on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants 2008

KL, Malaysia - This seminar aims to increase the awareness and potentials of researchers, academicians, private sector, entrepreneurs and policy makers towards a greater concerted effort for the advancement of herbal research and industry.

The theme of the Seminar on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants 2008
is “Herbal Globalisation: A New Paradigm for Malaysian Herbal
Industry”. This seminar aims to increase the awareness and
potentials of researchers, academicians, private sector,
entrepreneurs and policy makers towards a greater concerted
effort for the advancement of herbal research and industry.
Discussions of the seminar encompass areas pertaining to
traditional knowledge, conservation and cultivation, trade and
commercialisation, quality, efficacy and safety; upstream and
downstream.

Individuals and professionals in government organizations,
research institutions, universities and private companies involved
in research, cultivation, conservation, processing, product
development, herbal standardization, marketing and trading.

The seminar will be held on 21-22 October 2008, at The Legend
Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Papers are invited in the areas below:
Traditional Knowledge, Conservation and Cultivation
Trade and Commercialisation to Meet Global Demands
Quality, Efficacy and Safety: Upstream and Downstream
Keynote lectures will be delivered by invited speakers.

Both English and Malay languages are accepted for oral and
poster presentations.

Submission of full papers : 30 September 2008
