“Nurture for Nature” Programme

The Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) is collaborating with the Education Ministry and Tetra Pak (M) Sdn. Bhd. to launch a six-month recycling programme themed “Nurture for Nature”.

The official launching ceremony was held at SRK Bangsar, with FRIM being represented by Eco-tourism and Urban Forestry Programme Head Dr Noor Azlin Yahya.

The programme will involve over 44,000 pupils from 25 primary schools in the Klang Valley. The children will actively collect, clean and recycle tin cans, old newspapers, boxes and others, using Tetra Pak cartons in special recycling bins, in contribution to environmental conservation efforts.

Through this programme, the children will learn to adopt recycling as a way of life and they will also be educated on ways to protect and conserve the natural environment for the future. It is crucial for the younger generation to understand the benefits of such civic consciousness and the role they can play in safeguarding the environment.

FRIM will conduct environment education activities throughout this programme to strengthen awareness and promote better understanding among the school children of the importance of environment conservation.
