RIKEN to host a booth at AAAS 2010 annual meeting

RIKEN will be hosting a booth at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), to be held in San Diego, Feb. 18-22. The AAAS is a global organization dedicated to advancing science around the world.

In keeping with the theme of the meeting this year, "Bridging Science and Society," RIKEN will present exhibits and information on such cutting-edge environmental research topics as new bio-based resources making use of the symbiotic systems of termites, new plants created using radioactive isotope beams, and a novel technology to extract useful compounds from jellyfish which are in overabundance in the seas around Japan.

It is hoped that the booth will attract attention to RIKEN's many and diverse research activities. Information will also be provided on career opportunities at RIKEN for those interested in working and living in Japan.
