JIMIS-11, “Creep 2011 12th International Conference on Creep and Fracture of Engineering Materials and Structures”

The objective of this conference is to provide a platform for scientists and engineers to share their experience and knowledge on high temperature materials and structures, in order to explore new materials and their new applications.

Creep 2011, the 12th International Conference on Creep and Fracture of Engineering Materials and Structures will be held in Kyoto, Japan from May 22 to 27, 2011. The first in this series of conferences was held in Swansea in the UK in 1981, and the latest in Bayreuth in Germany in 2008. Creep 2011 will take place at the conference center, Kyoto TERRSA, just a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station. Kyoto was the capital of Japan for over 1000 years, and is a designated World Cultural Heritage site.

The following list provides the representative topics of Creep 2011, but the conference is not limited to these:

Deformation and fracture at high temperature
Creep fatigue interaction and crack propagation
New techniques of testing and data analysis
Mechanical, micromechanical and atomistic modeling
Thermodynamics and kinetics of solid state reactions during creep
Advanced microstructural characterization methods and nano metrology
Microstructural degradation, damage evolution and life assessment
Heat resistant materials such as light metals and alloys, steels, titanium alloys, Ni and Co based superalloys, and intermetallic alloys
Ultra-high temperature materials such as refractory alloys and intermetallics, ceramics, carbon materials, and composites
Development of materials for high temperature applications

The conference consists of invited lectures and contributed papers (oral presentations only). The official language is English.
