First Announcement

After the success of the first IBBC in 2004, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and the School of Business and Economics Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) will host the International Borneo Business Conference (IBBC 2006) from 6 - 8th. December, 2006. The aim of the conference is to provide opportunities for administrators, professionals, practitioners and academicians among the Borneo Island members to share their insight on the development and challenges in all related area. This conference also provides a forum to discuss the interdependencies of the global economy affecting all aspects of the business and economics issues in a global context. By stimulating cross-disciplinary discussions and networking, participants can further enhance and enrich their knowledge in the dynamism of global economy environment. This network will be strengthened through various collaborations between UNIMAS, UMS and other universities as well as private institutions to endeavour in academic activities.

Papers describing original work in all areas that contribute to the knowledge development of business and economics are invited. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

- Economics development
- Fiscal & monetary policy issues
- Globalization impact
- Information & communication technology management
- Management & development of small-medium enterprise
- Marketing
- Organizational behavior
- Regional economic integration
- Tourism and hospitality

Important Dates

April 1st 2006 - Deadline for receipt of abstract.
August 1st 2006 - Deadline for submission of full paper.
September 1st 2006 - Deadline for each registration.
