The Second International Symposium on the Risk Assessment of Manufactured Nanomaterials

The symposium aims to develop methods of characterization, exposure assessment and hazard assessment, and establishing risk assessment methods for manufactured nanomaterials using those methods

This is the second international symposium in relation to the NEDO project “Research and Development of Nanoparticle Characterization Methods - Evaluating Risks associated with Manufactured Nanomaterials”. The project was aiming at developing methods of characterization, exposure assessment and hazard assessment, and establishing risk assessment methods for manufactured nanomaterials using those methods, under the project leader, Dr. Junko NAKANISHI, and was completed in fiscal 2010 to achieve numerous results in collaboration with an OECD’s nanosafety program. This two-day symposium is to disseminate the results of the project including risk assessment documents for carbon nanotubes (CNTs), fullerene (C60) and titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles and to provide an opportunity to discuss the implications of the project.
