The first UK-Israel Regenerative Medicine Conference will bring together leading researchers from both countries in the field of regenerative medicine to share latest developments in the field.

The first UK-Israel Regenerative Medicine Conference is part of the BIRAX regenerative medicine initiative. It will bring together leading researchers from both countries in the field of regenerative medicine to share latest developments in the field and to develop collaborations. The Conference will include plenary and panel discussions as well as networking opportunities for researchers and information regarding the Call for Proposals.

Speakers

The top names in the field of Regenerative Medicine will be speaking, including Lord Professor Naren Patel; Dame Professor Julia Polak; Prof Kevin Shakesheff; Prof Molly Stevens; Prof Nissim Benvenisty; Prof Joseph Itskovitz-Eldor; Prof Yair Reisner and Prof Yosef Shiloh.

Call for Proposals

The 2011-2012 Call for Proposals for the BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative will be published on October 31 2011. This 5 year programme will promote collaboration between the UK and Israel in regenerative medicine.

The scheme will give generous support to joint high quality and ground-breaking UK-Israel research projects. The chosen projects will enhance joint research between British and Israeli academic institutions and collaborations between researchers, including PhD and Postdoctoral students.

Call for Posters

There will be opportunity for young researchers to present their work at a poster session.

Suggested topics for poster submissions include but are not limited to: Cell therapy; Stem cell biology; Tissue Engineering; Biomedical engineering; Gene therapy and any of the session topics.

Travel Grants

British Council will be offering travel grants to students from the UK and will publish more information about these shortly.

About BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative

The BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative is focusing on the great potential in scientific collaboration between the UK and Israel. It is a five year programme of research in regenerative cell therapy which will strengthen scientific and academic cooperation between the UK and Israel through collaborative projects between British and Israeli academic institutions, fellowship programme, and conferences and seminars.
