4th International Symposium on Atomically Controlled Fabrication Technology 2011, 31/10 – 2/11, Osaka, Japan

This Symposium provides a platform to highlight, and encourage debate on, latest development in achieving atomic level controllability in wide-area processing and environmental harmony. It will take place in the Osaka University Nakanoshima Center in Osaka, Japan.

The fourth international symposium on Atomically Controlled Fabrication Technology is organized by the Global COE program at Osaka University and The Technical Committee on Ultra Precision Machining of JSPE. The aim of our global COE program is to achieve the atomic level controllability in wide-area processing and environmental harmony, which is indispensable for the next-generation manufacturing technologies with high functions.

For this purpose, by collaborating with other organizations of different fields, we focus not only on the creation of new fabrication processes beyond the current limitations but also on the systematization of the fabrication processes as science. This symposium highlights the recent achievements in the program. The symposium will consist of keynote lectures, contributed talks and poster presentations and provide an opportunity for scientists and engineers to exchange information and ideas. Interdisciplinary studies and discussion on the future directions of the fields are strongly encouraged.
