The 5th International Borneo Business Conference (IBBC) 2012: Business and Economics Sustainability and Cooperation in Asia
The IBBC 2012 conference theme “Business and Economics Sustainability and Cooperation in Asia” reflects the vibrant business and economics condition enjoyed by the Asian region as a whole. Notwithstanding however, the financial crisis engulfing the western countries may negatively affect the business and economics growth of the region.
Started in 2004, the International Borneo Business Conference (IBBC) has emerged as a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners and policy makers to interact and exchange viewpoints as well as their research findings on contemporary business and economics issues related to the Borneo region and the global world. IBBC is a biennial conference and the previous four conferences were successfully held in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010. Hence, this conference should be of interest to academics, consultants, industry practitioners, professionals, government agencies and policy makers to present their ideas on business and economics-related topics that are in line with the conference theme.
The 5th International Borneo Business Conference (IBBC) 2012 is jointly organised by School of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), on the 20th and 21st of December 2012 in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia.Nestled in the south-east coast of Sabah, Tawau is the third largest town in Sabah after Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan. Being surrounded by the ocean, this fast-developing town is famous for its fresh, succulent and cheap seafood. It is also the largest agro-tourism destination in the state with attractions such as Balung Eco Resort, Tawau Hills Park and Teck Guan Cocoa Museum to name a few.
