Autonomy and Expectations: The Evolution of University Social Research Centers A Public Lecture by Leland Joseph R. Dela Cruz

The lecture will be held on 25 June 2013, Tuesday, 2:30-4:00 PM at the Third World Studies Center, Lower Ground Four, Palma Hall, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, University of the Philippines Diliman.

The Third World Studies Center, in cooperation with the UP Diliman Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research and Development and the Center for Integrative and Development Studies, present the public lecture on Autonomy and Expectations: The Evolution of University Social Research Centers by Prof. Leland Joseph R. Dela Cruz. In this lecture, Prof. Dela Cruz will present the findings of his study of nine university social research centers, namely, UP’s Center for Integrative and Development Studies; UP Diliman’s Third World Studies Center and Population Institute (UPPI); UP Los Baños’ Institute for Strategic Planning and Policy Studies; Ateneo de Manila University’s Institute of Philippine Culture; University of San Carlos’ Office of Population Studies; University of Santo Tomas’ Research Cluster for Cultural, Educational, and Social Issues; Xavier University’s Research Institute for Mindanao Culture; and De La Salle University’s Social Development Research Center.
