AIMS
Asian Festival Extravaganza’s objective is to depict the diverse and varying arts, handicraft, culture and culinary delights of the ten ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Indonesia) plus 7 (India, China, Republic of Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan). This will be a showcase of “A FUSION OF ASIAN ARTS, CULTURAL AND CULINARY EXTRAVAGANZA”, promoting peace, harmony and unity. It is also designed to increase awareness, build a closer cultural link and relationship between the UK, the ten ASEAN countries plus the 7 ASIAN countries as well as promote tourism and trade between the ten countries of ASEAN and the UK as well as the ten countries of ASEAN with the 7 countries of ASIA. This event will also commemorate the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN and the 50th (Golden) Anniversary of
Malaysia.

FESTIVAL ATTRACTIONS
• Each participating country from the ten ASEAN countries plus 7 will showcase and feature its unique music, dance, culinary delights, fashion, handicrafts, display art exhibits, other services and products and all day stage performances under this single largest ASIAN FUSION umbrella in the Coin Street, South Bank, London.
• It will be the largest Asian Festival in London, which will promote Asian cultures from the ten ASEAN countries plus 7. In addition there will be activities for children and street performances, traditional games, martial arts and cooking demonstration of exotic culinary delights of the participating countries. To add to the excitement visitors can participate in competitions and raffles to win attractive prizes, including free flights to any one of the participating countries.

ORGANISER - AUBF
AUBF (ASEAN UK Business Forum) a seminal group composed of high calibre businessmen, professionals and academicians from ASEAN living in the UK, have forged together to promote trade & investment opportunities in the region and is dedicated to enhancing not only bilateral, political, economic and cultural relations between UK and the ASEAN region but also ASEAN and the seven other neighbouring ASIAN countries. The Patrons of AUBF are Their Excellencies the Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the 10 ASEAN countries to the UK. AUBF works closely with UKTI, FCO and British Chambers of Commerce.

HOW MANY VISITORS ARE EXPECTED TO VISIT?
In 2006, the Coin Street South Bank events have attracted well over 350,000 visitors and for this ASIAN FESTIVAL EXTRAVAGANZA we are expecting approximately 250,000 visitors, locals and International visitors.

CHARITY
A portion of the proceeds from the Asian Festival Extravaganza will be allocated at the discretion of the organisers to benefit registered charities in the UK (such as Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) and British Red Cross) or registered charities in one of the ASIAN countries, which has its primary aim to improve the quality of life, well being of the needy children in some of the ASIAN countries as well as to build safer and stronger community
