Dr Dora Juan Juan HU

Dora is driving and leading the effort in the innovations of technologies and solutions to improve sustainability, livability, and productivity in built environment.

Dr Dora Hu Juanjuan is currently Principal Scientist and Principal Investigator, group head of the Optical & Signal Processing group at the Communications & Networks Department, Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. She is an adjunct associate professor at school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She received the B.Eng. (Hons.) and Ph.D. degrees from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. From 2009 to 2012, she was with I2R, as a Scientist and a Principal Investigator in developing novel fiber devices for sensor applications. In 2012, she received the A*STAR Postdoctoral Fellowship (2012–2014) under which she joined the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, USA, as a Research Fellow and was working on novel photonic technologies for endoscopic diagnosis. She joined the Femtosecond Optics Group, Imperial College London in 2013, where she was working on visible and mid-infrared fiber lasers. She has published 4 book chapters and over 100 refereed journals and conference articles in the field of fiber optics and sensors. She has been listed in Singapore 100 Women in Tech 2023, and listed in the top 2% most cited scientists 2023.
