An Event for the Convergence of Science and Technology Talent! The Science and Technology Specialized Universities Sports Meet at DGIST

- Since its first event at DGIST in 2017, the sports meet is marking its sixth year. Participating universities have taken turns with hosting the sports meet in past years. A large-scale event with around 1,000 students expected to attend, the sports meet fosters exchange and unity among science and technology talents.

□ DGIST (President Kunwoo Lee) will host the 6th STadium, the sports meet of the six Science and Technology Specialized Universities, on November 9.

□ STadium is an inter-university sports meet where Korea’s science and technology talents foster unity through sports and cultural exchange. Voluntarily organized by students from the Science and Technology Specialized Universities, STadium has been held annually since the first event at DGIST in 2017, with participating universities taking turns hosting the event. This year marks the sixth meet, and it will be held again at DGIST.

□ Around 1,000 students from the six Science and Technology Specialized Universities, namely, DGIST, KAIST, GIST, UNIST, POSTECH, and KENTECH, are expected to participate in the 6th STadium. The event will begin with an opening ceremony and will feature a total of five sports: baseball, soccer, basketball, badminton, and e-sports (League of Legends). Cultural performances have also been prepared by students from each university. These activities create opportunities for exchange among students. The student councils of each university are slated to discuss future cooperation and exchange opportunities, using this event as a starting point.

□ President Kunwoo Lee of DGIST stated, “I am honored to host STadium, a venue for the convergence of science and technology talent, at DGIST. As this is a valuable opportunity for exchange through sports and culture, I hope it will become a memorable experience for the participating students and strengthen mutual cooperation and exchange among the universities.”
