The School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University kicked off its Annual Show at the Jockey Club Innovation Tower (ITower). For the first time, exhibits are located at galleries and open-studios on multiple floors of the building. Public audience is welcome to visit the Show and explore the architecture of the ITower.

The School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) organised the Global Tourism & Hospitality Conference and Asia Tourism Forum on 18-20 May in Hong Kong. The conference culminated in a gala dinner on 20 May, which was also held in celebration of the SHTM’s 35th anniversary.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and The Hong Kong Academy of Orthokeratology jointly held a press briefing on 6 May to announce results of the studies on the effectiveness in controlling the progression of myopia, that the orthokeratology (Ortho-K) could slow down myopic progression by about 60% in school children.

It is also the first permanent Hong Kong architectural project by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid.

Researchers of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University have recently conducted a study on 15 brands of coloured contact lenses available from various sources. Results showed that most of these cosmetic contact lenses have surface coloured pigments which can easily come off when using a standardised lab-based rub-off test.
